About the Physical Performance and Speech Masterclass
The Physical Performance and Speech Masterclass is a two-week intensive training program for actors, performers, teachers, public speakers, directors, workshop leaders, and curious members of the public who want to develop stronger physical presence, vocal confidence, speech clarity, improvisation skills, and creative performance technique.
The course will take place at Neue Baumschule in Gransee as part of the creative program surrounding Gransee HerbstFest 2026.
Training will include physical performance, movement vocabulary, balance, flexibility, alignment, voice, speech, singing, improvisation, and practical theatrical invention. The work is physical, vocal, imaginative, and direct. Participants will explore the connection between body, voice, imagination, and live communication.

Participation Fees
The masterclass is organized in three participation categories. Places in each category are limited and subject to availability.
International Professional / Teacher Training Rate: €1,500
This rate is intended for international participants, teachers, directors, workshop leaders, and professional performers who wish to study the course as a transferable training system.
This tier includes the full 50-hour masterclass, a structured course plan, and an additional teacher-transmission workshop on how to absorb, adapt, and pass on the material responsibly.
Standard Regional Participation Rate: €1,250
This rate is intended for actors, performers, educators, public speakers, and interested members of the regional public.
This tier includes the full 50-hour masterclass.
Alte Baumschule Gransee e.V. Member Rate: €750
A reduced rate is available for current members of Alte Baumschule Gransee e.V.
Member-rate places are limited and subject to availability.
Supporter Rate: €1,500 or more
Participants who are able to contribute more than the standard rate are invited to do so. Additional support helps strengthen Gransee HerbstFest and the cultural work of Neue Baumschule.

Who This Masterclass Is For
This masterclass is open to people with different levels of experience. You do not need to be a professional performer to take part, but you should be ready to work physically, vocally, and creatively.

About David Cassel
The masterclass will be led by David Cassel, a Canadian theatre artist, director, performer, teacher, and creator of Space Commander, Busland Interactive, The Cosmic Garbage Bin, The Flowerpot Heads, and other international performance projects.
With more than four decades of experience in physical theatre, street performance, puppetry, voice, improvisation, and theatrical invention, David brings a practical, direct, and highly physical approach to performance training.
His work combines theatrical discipline, physical imagination, vocal presence, comic structure, improvisation, and the ability to create live performance in direct relationship with an audience.

Location
The masterclass will take place at Neue Baumschule in Gransee, Brandenburg, Germany.
Neue Baumschule is a creative and educational project connected to Alte Baumschule Gransee e.V.. The site is located on the grounds of a former tree nursery and supports cultural, educational, ecological, and community-based work.
Training will take place in the barn, which will be adapted for theatrical use. The setting offers a direct and grounded working environment for physical performance, voice, movement, and creative exploration.

Places are limited to approximately 16 participants. Registration categories are limited and subject to availability.
